The purpose of this newsletter is to highlight some of the current contests and activities on the site and help educate members on how to host contests and activities. Write to me if you'd like something in particular covered.
WDC has an important milestone coming up in September, a birthday! Our community will be turning nine in a month and we all can celebrate. If you run a contest with continuing rounds, think about running a special round in honor of our community.
If you like to create crossword puzzles or wordsearches, how about creating one with clues pertaining to our site? Or perhaps an In and Out or a Madlib that tells a fun story about our community?
Perhaps a long-term member can create something to show members what it was like to belong to Stories.com. The StoryMaster has developed this site into an international gathering for worldwide authors. What country are you from and how did you find us?
Now is the time to start thinking about developing a birthday item. It takes time to format your item, make or purchase banners and gather GPs or prizes. If it is a large contest, you'll need to recruit judges and helpers for the competition.
You'll need to advertise! Bid GPs for advertising space in the Bid Click system. There is a tutorial here: "The Writing.Com BidClick System" to learn how to advertise your contests or work on our site. You can get a lot of visitors to your portfolio if you advertise.
Help make this Writing.com birthday special and create something fun for our members to do to celebrate. There's nothing more wonderful than community participation and fun. Write on!
Have an opinion on what you've read here today? Then send the Editor feedback! Find an item that you think would be perfect for showcasing here? Submit it for consideration in the newsletter! https://www.Writing.Com/go/nl_form
This month's question: Do you plan on having a birthday contest? Do you plan on participating in the birthday celebrations? Last month's question: What are your favorite types of puzzles to try? What makes it so challenging?
