Letter from the editor

One very important aspect of this site is your portfolio. This is where readers come to view your work of art, your contests, your writings and your photos. Your port is essentially your housing unit for everything you create here on the site. With so many possibilities as to what you host in your port, it is a good idea to have some sort of organization or cohesion for yourself as well as others.

So you ask what exactly does organizing my port have to do with Contests and Activities? Cleaning your port is an activity. It is one that can take anywhere from minutes to days, all depending on size and clutter of what is housed there.

I have come across some very interesting ports. I have seen some organized as "Five course mealOpen in new Window., each folder a different course, representing a different type of writing. Then there was "Welcome to My Library!Open in new Window. where each folder was a different section for all ages and genre readers, set up like a public library for viewing. From well organized folders, to "SharpenedOpen in new Window. pencils, organization is the key. Here are just a few examples of some well organized ports I have come across in my travels:

When readers were asked, to reply to, "If you could give any gift in the world to anybody, I would give _______to ________because,___________". This was a mini contest to see how many responses we could get. Each respondent has received 1000gps and a merit badge. Here are what our readers had to say:

Mara ♣ McBain Author Icon If I could give any gift in the world to anybody I would give prosperity to my son Max, because every mother wants something better for her child.

Bonnie Author Icon I would give the gift of full health to Tony because I don't want to lose him.

BIG BAD WOLF Feeling Thankful Author Icon If I could give any gift in the world to anybody I would give a ton of gold to It's too hot already! Author IconMail Icon because she has been a great partner for my Non-Humans R Us group

atwhatcost If I could give any gift in the world to anybody I would give a replacement hip bone to my best friend, because hers has disintegrated over the years, she's too poor and too broke to get one herself, and she's allergic to most antibiotics, so she can't get one any other way besides wishing.

Christina~Thanks StoryMaster Author Icon If I could give any gift in the world to anybody I would give_bliss_______ to _hubby______ because__he is an amazing person, always doing something for everyone. He is a blessed soul__________.

Alexandra Jones Author Icon If I could give any gift in the world I would give a moment free from pain to all chronic pain survivors in this world, because sometimes a moment is a all it takes to remember how blessed we are to be alive, even in the midst of suffering.

Steve adding writing to ntbk. Author Icon Rhonda because she has always wanted one for her jewelry and other beauty trinkets. It's always too much and frustrating to not be able to get it every year.
Copenator out!

Free_Rip Author Icon If I could give any gift in the world to anybody I would give the book 'Prosperity Without Growth' to all current world leaders because we really need some rational and informed leadership in the way of balancing the enviroment and economics right now.
