A Look Back at the 2011 Newbies

Our Writing.Com community is constantly evolving and growing. New people from all around the world find and join the site. Some take a long time to figure out how things work (me) others are instant wizards on the site. This week, I want to highlight members who joined the site in 2011 and jumped in right away at creating groups, activities, and contests that enrich the whole site.

Coming up with an idea for a contest or activity is not very difficult. Making a page that attracts participants is more daunting. The rules have to be clear. Prizes for contests are always a good incentive to create interest. Forums for gatherings of any sort need regular attention. Let's show those who dared bring their creativity, that their ideas and causes are worthy of our attention and participation.

Visit the raffles that new members have created to support their groups.
Write for the many contests that those new members are offering all of us.
Join their groups if they are something you want to belong to.

If you're a member new or seasoned, jump into this colorful world of playing with words head first!

Great message in the newsletter. I didn't have a lot of money to buy all my eleven grandchildren an individual present this year, so I put together family packs, one for my son's family, and one for my daughter's. They have games, puzzles and other family activities, which would have them doing things together. I plan on writing a poem about families that play together, stay together and putting it on the top of the stacks.

My kids also got some games for us to play together. And something from their wishlist. I bet your presents were cherished by all.
