Linking
What does "Linking" have to do with Contests & Activities you ask? Everything!
The majority of contests ask for submission in b-item link. A few contests allow submissions to be linked via a book entry. Most reviewing forums ask for links to the reviews made on behalf of the group or forum. Knowing how to link properly is one of the most valuable skills needed to successfully navigate the site. A comprehensive list of all possible links is posted in a Writing.Com document that you can access by going to Writing.Com Tools in the left hand side bar. Go to the bottom of the box to WritingML Help. Once clicked on, a pop-up opens up to show links to all the different WritingML codes available to WdC members. The second passage is about linking. You will see that you can not only link to items in portfolios, but to pretty much anything that is registered on Writing.Com. Forum posts, newsletters, book entries, anything with a time stamp and a number can be linked back to. If you need to find a piece of WritingML quickly, you can type {code:WritingML} and this will happen: WritingML Help A link to the WritingML pop-up. New and old users of Writing.Com should periodically check this valuable tool out. |
