About This Newsletter

“Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!”
― Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Letter from the editor

Have you taken a look around Writing.com lately? Have you seen the many contests and activities? Tell me you can't feel the holiday cheer.

I love this time of year. Not just because it's Christmas time and soon the presents will be stacked under the tree, but because of what it represents. It's a get together of family and friends, of spending time with loved ones, sitting in front of a warm and cozy fire reading your favorite book, and most definitely hiding away from the cold, unless you prefer it. Watching the snow fall and when it stops there's that hush outside, while the white blanket covers everything in sight. It's that kind of time. How can you not love it?

The site has always been busier than usual during December. There are so many activities being created and old ones brought to life that it can become almost impossible to think of something new and creative. But what are we here for if not to use our imagination? To let those around us inspire our muse and push us in the right direction. Be it writing or creating, use this season or any season to inspire you. Be a rebel and create something opposite of what everyone else is doing. Be a Grinch! You're allowed.

Still, you want others to enjoy themselves so give them a place to do so.

Yes, it can take a lot of time and effort to create something worth while and run it for as long as you want to, but the end result can be amazing. Excitement, cheer, laughter, but most importantly, friends - old and new. You can never have enough friends. No one ever set a limit as to how many people in your life are too many, not even on a website. Bring them closer to you with a great activity, share in their joy and laughter, let them into your life.

Perhaps you're not good with the visual aspect when it comes to creativity, or you want to make things stand out, but aren't sure how to do it. Ask! This site is all about help. We're all here because we hope to find someone who will not only critique our writing but who'll also open up new worlds to us and help us, show us the way. You'll be surprised how many people would agree to set aside some time just to help someone. It doesn't matter when, but right now, it's not just another holiday, it's the time of bringing joy to others. Ask and watch what happens.

As long as you're here with us, you'll never be alone on Christmas... Or any other holiday for that matter!
