Happy New Year! This time of year we have a tendency to look back on the previous year, set goals, and look forward to the future. One consistency you can find as we transition to the new year are the stars in the night sky.
Can one find love in the stars? Let's take a look at the zodiac and see if it really does influence us.

Our zodiac signs tells us a lot about ourselves, including those we care for/love. You can always find a trace of the zodiac's influence on love. One thing to remember is that our sign tells us of our major traits, and how those influence our love lives. (if you believe. ) —Keep in mind if one sign is more assertive than the other, a calmer sign might provide balance to the assertive sign.
The signs of the zodiac and their romantic traits:
Ares – is a quick-witted, assertive love sign.
Taurus – tend to be calm and controlled in love.
Gemini – are intelligent and witty in love. Don't bore them.
Cancer – exhibit a wide arrange of emotions, but appeal to their sense of home and you've got them in your back pocket.
Leo – make them the center of attention and you're in.
Virgo – they're composed and don't look for the limelight.
Libras – they're rational in love.
Scorpios – they possess eyes that can pierce your soul.
Capricorn – tend to be shy but respect traditions.
Sagittarius – they're fun loving and optimistic.
Aquarius – they're very friendly.
Pisces – they enjoy going with the flow.
Every zodiac has good and bad traits. What makes a good match is the ability of the signs to balance and compliment each other.
Question for you: Do you know your sign? Do you know who makes a good zodiac mate for you? Write in and share!

Here's some feedback from my 11 DEC 2013 Romance/Love Newsletter:
Fyn
Favorite Christmas movies would have to be 'Bells of St Mary's' because there are so many memories of watching it with my grandmother, great-aunt and folks every Christmas. Once when I was unable to get home for Christmas (I was stationed overseas) I didn't get home til May. Mom and Dad flew my brother out, we decorated the rubber tree plant with ornaments and had Christmas, turkey and all. Cool part, Dad called wgn in Chcago and (in the wee hours of the morning) they ran Bell AND White Christmas with an into that they did this for a soldier finally home. If those two hadn't already been my favorites, they would have from then on.
Ah, this type of memory is one we'll hold with us forever. Thanks for sharing, Fyn!

Favourite holiday movie for Christmas has to be any version of Scrooge (or A Christmas Carol). Now, there's a lonely old man (see your comments above about boy used to being alone). OK it may not have a boy/girl romantic element (although there is in the nephew and his wife's relationship despite their relative poverty) but the change of heart by old Ebeneezer is romantic in another sense!
I agree - sometimes romance is very subtle and should be taken in another sense - like the change Ebeneezer makes. Another great movie that embodies the change of heart you mention is "My Fair Lady."

Great newsletter. My favorite is Scrooge 'cause it is old just like me.
Scrooge has a lot of people cheering for him.

Holidays, have 3 movies we all watch. Most are standards, Miracle on 34th, Best Christmas Pageant Ever but our favorite is Albert Finney's Scrooge! I love this version because of the songs, the costumes and the acting. In 2000, we put on a Christmas party and used parts of this movie as an invitation. We had such a great response we gave 3 Christmas parties the following years; Holiday Inn, Victorian, and Christmas on Broadway. Each guest was encouraged to wear a costume and what great participation. People love an excuse to dress up.
There's always an opportunity to dress up during the Christmas holiday season.
ANN Counselor, Lesbian & Happy
Thank you for a helpful newsletter and for listing my LGBT story of military wives. Do remember, LGBT folks are as romantic as any other. I write stories for the Questioning teen, the Just Out after marriage to a man, the family members who desire to understand us and how ordinary we are in love, and for everyone who loves romance. NOW, I have published seven volumes of LGBT Romance on Kindle, Amazon, worldwide entitled: Lesbians Rock: volume 1...to ...7. Thank you for helping us as we write. Ann Patterson, now a happy Author.
Thanks for writing in, Ann. The LGBT is a vibrant community and it shouldn't be neglected when it comes to romance writing.
Marci Missing Everyone
As a reader, historical romance is my favorite, but Christmas romance is a must this time of year. Since I am trying my hand at writing a romantic novella, I appreciate your advice on the conflict. It seems this is where I most often struggle. Reading your newsletter has already given me a couple different ideas. Thanks!
Thanks so much for writing in and sharing. I'm glad to be able to help. Good luck with your novella!
