I think what makes people fascinating is conflict, it's drama, it's the human condition. Nobody wants to watch perfection.
~ Nicolas Cage
I made mistakes in drama. I thought drama was when actors cried. But drama is when the audience cries.

A specific ingredient added to your cooked meal, the right amount can make a huge difference in your cooking. Not enough, it may taste bland; too much and it just might not be as good as you wanted. Let's translate that into writing. Too much drama can slow the story down while not enough may leave the reader with a sour taste in their mouth.
While drama exists all around us, interpreting it into writing isn't always as easy. Your characters are a mix of a whole lot of differences which you've picked out and once that character lives and breathes, it has a life of their own. You cannot change their behavior if their path is set. Their traits are part of who they are. You have to be careful as to how much of a particular ingredient they have.
Here are some positives:
Adaptable
Efficiency
Fairness
Tactfulness
Responsibility
Tolerance
Virtue
Trustworthiness
Friendliness
Humility
Honesty
Generosity
There are many more to choose from, but I've picked those out because I like them. Now, looking at it backwards, your character simply has to have a bad trait. No one is perfect! Reading about a perfect character is only as good as reading about the bad side of them. Perfection in it's best form doesn't reflect humanity and we all have our own quirks which annoy those around us. Same goes for the guy written on the page.
We don't love people because of their perfections, we love them because of their imperfections. The visual aspect of anyone is only that, a visual impression. To get to know anyone better, you have to get to know their soul and while their imperfections may be visible to us, we love them in spite of them.
'til next time!
