“There's an opposite to déjà vu. They call it jamais vu. It's when you meet the same people or visit places, again and again, but each time is the first. Everybody is always a stranger. Nothing is ever familiar.”
― Chuck Palahniuk, Choke
Do you lack motivation? Yeah. Me too.
I have goals! Okay well, I have thoughts about goals.
I have good intentions. Then things like Snapewives happens. I read something and it says don't search Snapewives. So, what am I supposed to do? Of course, I have to search it, right? It's basically a group of women who believe they are married to Severus on an astral plane. I'll pause here and let that sink in. You'll never be the same now. You can't unlearn that. It's in your head, permanently.
That isn't the only time that will happen though. I mean, when you read, "Have you heard about Murder Island in Thailand?" or that there is a huge vault of scary real stories if you just search "No Sleep". Hearing that, how can you not want to check that out? On one hand, you can read some really strange stories. They might even inspire you to write something, you know when you stop procrastinating reading random things on the internet. The bad part? By the time you stop reading crazy things on the internet, it will be time to go to work/sleep/school.
So how do you stay motivated? How do you fight the dreaded procrastination bug? Please share this with me! There has to be a valid way, something we can believe in and depend on.
No, the answer is not Snapeism. You know what that is, right? Clearly, someone has not been Googling enough. Snapeism is the fiction-based religion that worships, you guessed it, Severus Snape. I've read a rather in-depth article on it here if you're interested (and have a good 45 minutes to kill). SPOILER ALERT! This is where I learned the sad news that one of the most famous Snapewives "Rose" has since moved on and is now in a fictional relationship with Mr. Jethro Gibbs (Yes, of NCIS fame) So what can we take away from this? Clearly, Snapeism didn't save her and it won't save us. So, please, tell me there is another answer on how to stop procrastinating.
I await your comments. Share your ideas in the Ask & Answer portion below and I'll share the best ideas in my next Newsletter and the best response/idea gets a MERIT BADGE of my choice!

Excerpt:
It all began on a mountain top. Well, it looked like a mountain top at least, but it was not certain, it could have easily been a large hill. A battle had occurred for quite a while, a battle between good and wicked, or evil and wicked, or wicked and wicked. It was a mess, it was rather unclear who actually was fighting who, so it was mostly a formality that it would be labeled as a war between any specific faction, it looked better in the books. You see, as this all took place on a mountain top, it was quite foggy, and none of the factions had especially good fog vision.

Resembling a bohemian luminary in his scattered black tux and peculiar collage of messily intertwined necklaces, he stood thoughtfully on the corner of the bridge. His wristwatch glistened in the reflection from the murky Seine below and he watched many cars pass over the bridge. People looked at him momentarily as they walked by, a busy man with his hands in his pockets glanced at the him curiously as he walked past.

In the most usual circumstance, I would be wandering the dark alleyways of Sayonah City, minding my own business. But today was different. I was sitting in the police station, yet I wasn't arrested for crime, or vandalizing. A cop, someone who would normally arrest me, asked for my help. I'm a 17 year old delinquent with enough time to make street art, aka graffiti. This is different. I like play hard-to-get with the cops, but I'm so freaked out, I would rather have them arrest me. It went like this;

The paws of the great white beast tore at the moist forest floor as the sun dipped below the tree line. Her short curly silver-blue hair, glistening like, whipped across her face as they raced through the dense forest. The chill wind tore at the translucent purple leaves as they weaved between the white trees. She clung tighter to the beast as its pace slowed. Before them stood the crumbling ruins of a once great city, destroyed in a war not so long ago. A single white building stood among the rubble, its great walls marred by blackened vines creeping up its sides and in to the crevices between the ancient bricks.

Many colleges and universities are developing what they call living learning communities, in which students choose to live together as a group centered around a theme, which could be anything from Chinese culture to women in science. Some critics believe that such groupings are limiting because the students are not exposed to different viewpoints and interests. Others object because they believe segregation based on race, ethnicity, or religion does not contribute to the mission of higher education. In my opinion, living learning communities would not expose students to different viewpoints and interests, but I can see some positives with it. For me I feel that I will not choose to live in one when I go to college because it won't allow me to be exposed to different perspectives, and meet diverse people.
