Letter from the editor

I have many ways in which I tell my husband that I love him: I flat out tell him; I do little things for him; I try to help him in ways I know are important to him, and more. I did notice that it is harder for him to express his love for me verbally.

So, are men really from Mars? Is the battle of the sexes still raging? Is the difference between men and women fated, due to DNA, or is it simply personality differences blamed on biology?

This is more than some philosophical fixation on my part; romance writers (all writers, really) need this information when they write so they can make their characters fully fleshed out and real.

Trouble is, everyone seems to have an opinion on this and they all are different. So I’d like to take this question to you. Send me your real life experiences on male/female situations and how they acted or viewed it in different ways. Let’s help each other learn and have fun with it!

I was just thinking, as I was inspired by my recent studies, that I'd be interested in seeing a dual perspective on 'love'. Men and Women tend to view love differently in some ways. Not as differently as some would think but different all the same.

Thanks for the tip. I too, have trouble finding a fitting gift for my wife. Her birthday is 5 days before Christmas and although she says I can never go wrong with jewelry, I feel just a babble or two get's too routine. I once bought her a complete makeover at a spa and a year later, she still had not "cashed" her gift. I'll try the massage you mentioned... it just might work.

I don't have a husband, or a boyfriend either for that matter, but one of my dreams is to find someone tha i can just sit down and cuddle with and talk to without either of us expecting more than that. I think quality time with a person is a best way into their heart.
I enjoyed it, Ria

Hello Red Writing Hood,
All of us love to receive or give gifts, it is not the gift in itself but first, the surprise of the gift to know what someone did to make you happy, and the importance that a person had thought of you. A nice word can in itself be a great gift, but what is more important is to know how to say "thank you" as a gift.

I think your doing a great job. I have to say, my favorite thing from my hubby is for him to rub my feet! ahhhhh. One mother's day he gave me a professional massage gift certif. I came away somewhat dissapointed. My hubby gave much better massages than he did! Especially on my feet!!! LOL. but anyway, know where you're coming from. My hubby did much better this year too...he is sooo sweet. sigh. That's why we marry them, right? Have a good one.

What a great NL. Loved your little surprise! And a massage is so healing for the soul. Your husband is a definite romantic and the intimacy from touching and caressing is so good to re-create a sparkle in each other and keep the fire burning! Well done! Thanks too for linking my item. I hope you try some of those massages with hubby soon! *Smile*

As always, thanks so much for the feedback. I value every word! *Delight*
