Letter from the editor

The Long & Winding Road To Writing.Com

On September 19th, 2002, I became a member of Stories.com.

"Oui, sixteen long years can give ya such a crick in the neck!"

Nevertheless, I am still here.

I can't remember how I found this website, but when I did it was like it filled me with a joy I only normally get watching children fall down and hurt themselves. So I thought, "Stories.com, hmmm, I got me some stories. Why not. You have chosen wisely, wise chosen one."

Been here ever since, but back in those days I needed all the help I could get.

I still fondly remember some of my first friends here: The Milkman Author Icon/ Diane Author Icon/ Vivian Author Icon/ COUNTRYMOM-JUST REMEMBER ME Author Icon/ Jay's debut novel is out now! Author Icon/ Colin Back on the Ghost Roads Author Icon/ Cubby Author Icon/ Puditat Author Icon/ shaara/ and of course ♥noVember tHiNg♥ Author Icon. Each one of these authors took my hand and guided me toward purgatory exceptionalism and I will never forget them. I literally tried to suck their brains dry to become a better writer.

There were others, most of them gone now, but I still remember their helping hands.

My point is . . . there are always people here willing to give you help. That's why this website is so popular. Hell, I can, and do, stare at it for an uncomfortable amount of time. This is a community of writers honing their craft and assisting others in the process.

So then, Stories.com turns into Writing.com and this month we celebrate its 18th Birthday. What? You haven't heard? Given the blank look on your face, I guess you must've been busy washing the metaphorical blood from your hands.

Just remember, 'Don't ever stop writing . . . THAT'S HOW THE MONSTERS GET YOU!'

Until Next Time,

A new sig from 'undocked'
