"Happiness is the realization of God in the heart.
Happiness is the result of praise and thanksgiving, of faith, of acceptance;
a quiet tranquil realization of the love of God."

Hello, and welcome to this edition of the Spiritual Newsletter. Your editors are, Puditat Author Icon, Love is a Mommy (no foolin) Author Icon, kittiara, and me, windac. May your heart, mind or soul be touched by a thought or feeling expressed in this issue.

Life has been extremely busy of late due to a heavy workload and personal matters. As a result I find myself waiting until the last minute to begin writing. And while there are many diverse topics from which to select, there simply isn't time to do the research. So in essence, shooting from the hip seems to be the method of choice today. This issue will be brief, but hopefully will still be meaningful in some small way.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From time to time I'll search the net for quotes to include in the NL; ones that make sense and that appeal to me on a spiritual level. The one below is one such quote:
"Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words."
- St. Francis of Assisi -
What a lovely, inspiring point of view! If our actions were to mirror those preached in the Gospel, there would be no need for Heaven. It would seem in today's world that we have completely forgotten what it is to think of the needs of others before our own. Are we so self-centered and self-involved that there's no room left to simply care about something or someone outside of our own sphere of reality?
I think sometimes we forget how much the little, seemingly insignificant actions can mean in the day to day process of living. Humanity is in such a rush going here and there in an effort to cram as much as possible into the day that simple courtesy is all but non-existent. All one need do is drive during rush hour traffic, shop in a crowded store, or watch the news. People are angry, frustrated and tired, and we take it all out on the next person who comes along. This is one area where we writers are very fortunate. We have the ability to put pen to paper, to take all our frustrations out on the world at large, yet never once attempting to hurt or maim.
I urge us all to write down our anxieties, our frustrations, our fears. If we can somehow purge the negative, maybe just maybe, we'll have more love, understanding and patience to share!
I leave you with an e-mail received from a friend this week:
A scientist was having a conversation with God.
He told Him, "We don't need you anymore God. Science has been able to create man."
God says, "Really? How's that?"
"We form him from dirt and breathe life into him."
God says, "Show me."
The scientist bends to scoop up soil.
God says, "Oh no! Get your own dirt."
*Heart* Until next time, take a moment each day to share something positive! *Heart*
Wind, thank you for featuring my story in your last newsletter. It elicited a lot of wonderful comments, not to mention so great reviews! I feel the same way you do about Blogs - I have met some wonderful people on this site, and I'm constantly checking their blogs to see what they're up to. Blogging also got me back into the writing game... it's a great cure for writers' block.
I've always enjoyed your Spiritual Newsletters, and this one's no different.
Your comment on letting the heart be the guide resonates with my own. When my adult children come to me for advice or guidance, I usally respond, "Follow your heart. It'll never lead you astray."
Keep up the great work. I look forward to your next SNL. Thanks for your devotion and take care.
With much love,
Isabel.
I know what you mean about being a blog junkie. I wasn't one until I got my own blog at the web magazine I write for at Infuze Magzine (http://www.infuzemag.com/staff/brian), and now it is something I keep up with a good deal, even if it's not my own blog! I have a MySpace blog too (blog.myspace.com/brianpalmer).
Thank you for your consideration. I feel that God really laid this message on my heart. We need to realize the things that both hold us back and bring us closer to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Thanks Again.
