a love poem
A love like fire
A fear like ice
How can passion have meanings twice?

Of all I’ve known over time
None made me feel the way you do
Of all those past and present
For me there’s only you

When I think of you
I feel a fear like ice
You pull me near with those arms so strong
And I wish this moment could last all night long

My love grows stronger
Each time we’re near
A love like fire spreads through me
Though I know the love in your eyes
Is for someone more than I’ll ever be

How can a love so wrong
Feel so right
As you hold me in your arms tonight

The perils of passion
Just became clear
As I see how your love
Goes to the one you hold dear

I know even now
Deep in my heart
That you and your love
Cannot be torn apart

I love you now as I always will
And deep in my sleep I dream of you
Of the love in my heart
That will always stay true

For the perils of passion
Matter not
While I am with you
