The true price of freedom

Freedom does not come with an easy price
It is not free, it cost's many lives
To be free, giving your life is the ultimate sacrifice
To think that many do this everyday, is a strange feeling that wont go away
Many put their live's on the line for our freedom
They do this everyday so we can be free
There are many ways to thank them,
and show your support
They are just like you and me
They all have family's
No matter if they are near or far,
they hold onto their dear one with so much love
Keeping picture's of them beside
their bed as they sleep at night,
knowing that no matter where they go they can not hold them tight
So they keep their picture close as they close their eye's,
and hope in the morning that all will be alright
They all hope that they will be safe till they get to come home,
but many do not get to make it home
They do not get to be welcomed by their family's loving arm's
But those that don't make it home alive,
have just made the ultimate sacrifice
But seeing those who do come home alive is alway's a welcoming sight
Not till all are home can we truly say
That we are living in the home of the free
