I lost my mother a few months ago, so I decided I needed to write something in tribute.
I wait at the castle for my new friends.
Running with the vampires until night's end.
The leader, my lust, the reason for my joining,
will hopefully be a healer to my dire journey.
A long awaited queen, in an unawakeable sleep,
waits for my return as the infection creeps.
As the clock ticks, I think of no other,
until Toren enters, I lose all thoughts of my mother.
He is beautiful, radiant, glowing under the night;
Then I snap back into reality realizing that being with him is an endless fight.
I have come here for her, that beautiful lady,
whose unfair deal that the God's have been playing.
And with all my courage I will ask for that bite
in hopes that their curse might save her life.
She is growing weak as the days proceed,
my search for her rebirth is sinking deep.

My relationship with Toren has began to bloom
and I hope I might be able to pop the question soon.
I am running out of time and knew this was not the place,
but what scared me the most was the look on his face.
"Irresponsible," and "Impossible," were the words he screamed,
but it ceased when he watched my tears start to stream.
I knew that he loved me and he would do what he could do,
but the consequences were a battle for far more than two.

When he reached the room where she slept,
he hit the floor as he wept.
This was the moment I know nothing would be the same,
but having her back would release my chains.
I turned my head as he took the first bite,
and by the look on his face I knew that this would be a long night.
He raised his head with tears running down his cheeks,
and informed me that her body was just too weak.
A reality I didn't want to hear,
I slapped his face and ran towards the pier.
He grabbed my arm just as I stepped off the edge
reminding me that my life and body could never be dead.
This immortality that I have chosen,
was supposed to keep her with me in a life with no closing.
As I watched her life drain away,
I knew I could never forget this horrible day.
An eternal life with someone I love
will never add up to a mother that I can hug.
