Never let the Beast called Failure have its way. |
Close sat the council, facing the chosen three, "We have chosen you for your merits and for your honorable deeds, For you Sir Might, are the strongest on the land, And you Sir Wise, are the pride of your clan." They turned last to the lanky youth, "Little one, you have no talent, true. But, you have something rather of use. That's why, you two, he'll be going with you." The chosen three set out on their quest, Each willing to do his best, Though to the dismay of the noble two, Much was a burden, the lanky youth. He was slow and he was weak, With a soft heart and a tongue, meek. So the noble two wasted no effort to, Humiliate and degrade the youth. Finally they arrived to the place, Where a mighty beast they had to face, Prepared his strength, the strong Sir Might, And readied himself, the sharp Sir Wise. "Keep back you," cried the noble two, "You're a nuisance and of no use.", So the lanky youth hung back instead, And let the two give it their best. The terrible beast then appeared Big and gristly, it was to be feared, However the two, didn't show their backs, And levied the beast with all their attacks. With one blow, the beast knocked them down, Their fight left them, as they lay on the ground, The beast roared with blatant glee, "Hey you two, what's up with thee?" "I heard Sir Might had the will, To break and crush a massive hill. And Sir Wise whose mind so keen, That many he'd brought to their knees." "But Alas! As it has always been, No one can measure up to me, When I strike, I strike hard and sure Here, let me tell you some more." "My name is Failure, and when I come, You'd better turn your backs and run, For many I have left crippled, more, Never to rise again." He roared. "It amuses me, how all fall prey, To the simple traps, I lay, Never again they'll try none, To watch them suffer sure is fun." Tis then stepped forward the lanky youth, His young, kind face, lacked of Ruth, "Hey you beast, I'll fight with thee, You have taken only two of three." The beast said with a nasty leer, "Hey lad, don't you come near, You are young so I'll spare you yet, But if you strike then you'll regret." The lanky youth stood stronger still, "I never feared failure and never will, I pity those who fall prey, To the silly traps you lay." The beast could not take it more, And came running on all fours, He attacked, sure the youth would fall, But could not move the youth at all. "Whats the matter beast, you out of steam? I am the strongest on my team, My strength isn't wisdom or might, Instead I have a surer method to fight." "I never give up, that's my way, I give my best everyday, I am not immune to failure yet, but turn stronger with failures met." "I have failed, once and again, And with that always knowledge gained, How to never fail that way, And always had fruitful days." The beast was most trouble bound, And full of awe , the ones on the ground, Who would have thought this lad could win, A lad so lanky, soft and thin. The beast attacked here then there, But the lad stood free of fear, And soon the beast fell to defeat, And victory was the lad's feat. The two most humbled, running came, "Forgive us lad, we feel so ashamed, We treated you like burden all the way, And here you came and saved the day!" The Lad replied with a gentle smile, "To serve with you has been worth my while, But you should learn this lesson somehow, never to fear failure from now." "Failure is always quick to strike, But if you stand strong you'll win the fight, Never think that you can't win, Or else failure will turn you in." The noble two bowed their heads, And agreed to what the boy had said, "The reason why we failed today, cos' fear of failure had it's way." "And here we'll take an oath such Never to fear failure much Now we'll face it bold and strong And soon our failures will be gone." And having taken that oath indeed Prepared to set back the noble three The boy having taught all a lesson fair To always stand strong against failure. |
