Resolution Renewed

Juicy bacon burger, Yum Yum
Christmas fudge, I want some
White chocolate peppermints oh what fun
So many sugar cookies; leaving me totally undone.
What about that resolution, 100 pounds to be gone

Resolution… Resolution, Oh! What a crock!
Tic toc the time goes on the New year’s wall clock
Two months one year to undo the other years
100 pound to loose and should have been so
The finish far away and not even half way; Ohhhh…

Two days two months to cross the finish line
The 50th birthday still loams away
The day so much closer than yesterday.
Two days two months to cross the finish line
Only 40 pounds lost and so much wasted time.

Excuses… Excuses so many to be had
Time… just not enough time
Pain… just to much pain
Guilt… hubby feels left behind
The glass is so empty, resolution so sublime

The glass the glass, not so empty, is it this time.
40 pounds were given to the to the sands of time
Resolution may wane and goal not be reached
But the goal remains in sight, no matter the plight
60 more pounds before the next year is through

40 pounds lighter if not more…
For the 50th birthday which is so much more
Half a life time covered in a blink
The next 50 will be so much lighter I think
Resolutions modified but still carried through

Not losing sight but no looking back
On to the New Year and taking no flack
Personally bringing sexy back, is the right track
So listen up resolution renewed…
Being Hot at 50 + is where it’s at.
