This is another poem I wrote whilst sitting in the rain.
As I sit here under my porch, listening to the rain,

My thoughts turn to you,

How naturally breathtaking you are,

And how gentle and friendly your presence is,

Or at least that is how I hope it has remained.

Like the rain, you bring back life and zest to the world,

And with your sunny disposition, you can make beautiful colours,

The same colours of the butterflies you give me,

Every time we pass each other.

It is cold where I am sitting and my thoughts turn to home,

To the house sitting behind me,

But the warmth of the house is nought compared to the cold delusions,

Of pictures of photographs of you and I together.

Unfortunately, I know that no such pictures exist,

And my mind turns to all the regrets I have about you,

How bad I treated you when you tried to reach out to me,

And how far you pulled your hand back when I reached for you.

I still think about the time you asked if I would kiss you,

I wonder if that could have changed my life in any significance,

What it would have felt like to finally find a sanctuary in this reality,

But regardless of what could have been,

I enjoyed what we had just as friends.

And for those sweet few precious moments of true and genuine companionship,

I am

Forever grateful.
