How Rich Are You?

How rich are you? 
I am very rich, but probably not the way most people would think of rich.  I have "no" money.  I do not live in a mansion.  I own a Ford Escape and a Ford Expedition (poor people's cars).  Both are more than six years old.  I do not have a fan club, and not many people noticed when my loved ones died.  I can't buy what I want, when I want it.  I have to save, and even then, I may not be able to afford it.  My mortgage takes one of my paychecks.  My shoes and clothes come from Payless (the less I pay the better I feel), and J C Penny (and if what I want cost more than pennies I leave it in the store).  I have no real credit cards, pretty much do cash and carry.  My house is old and all of my furniture older.  Some of my neighbors are better or worse off than I am. 

BUT, I am rich!  Have my sight even though I wear glasses.  Have a great sense of smell, and still enjoy smelling the roses.  Have a wonderful sense of touch, and enjoy the water flowing over me in the shower each day.  Have hearing so that I am able to listen to music and hear others' opinions. Have my sense of taste, and still  enjoy a great big bowl of ice cream every now and then.  Have a voice so that I am able to speak and communicate with others.  Have my health or a reasonable portion of it. 

Have friends who call just to see how I am doing and let me know they are praying for me.  Have a family that is going through just like me, but they are here to go through.  Have a job that allows me to help us, even though I wonder every two weeks, if I will get paid. 

My trial and balance sheet shows that I am approaching the same amount of richness as this nation's deficit!  Thank you Lord for such wonderful blessings and for making me one of the richest persons on earth.  Let me get out here and start sharing my richness because I am running out of places to store it!
