Often a day of rest consists of a warm, cozy blanket,
A cuddly, soft pillow, and lounging around one's home
Or tidying up;
It is simply one's down-time -
A slower, more relaxed pace
In which to kick up one's feet and clear one's head
Of the sheer madness and neverending stress of daily living.
But just as God earned His day of sunshine and repose
After six bustling days of sculpting and creating Earth,
These moments of seclusion and lethargy must be earned;
Only after supreme struggles and copious efforts
Can one stop to recharge their batteries
In this hectic frenzy known as life,
And enjoy the quietude and splendor
Of a non-commital day
There in the saintly confines of one's home.
