Reincarnation of Mentos

All Hollow's Eve is the day when it is possible for the appearance of Mentos. Mentos is a most powerful evil dark spirit who is able to live through another human if the proper ritual is conducted; this is the only way he can reincarnate back to earth. He almost made it five years ago and there is a most promising candidate this year, his name is Cal. Cal has been studying the dark arts for years and has stumbled upon the entity, Mentos and has been attempting to bring him back to life ever since every All Hollow's Eve.

Cal wakes up from another sleepless night. Reaching over for his cell phone he pushes the number one then send. After two rings a voice can be heard saying, "Hello, Spenser and Spenser. How may I help you?"

"Hello, Rita. This is Cal Spenser. I am feeling under the weather today. Please cancel all my appointments for today and reschedule them for Thursday and I will be available a couple extra hours then to also make up for loosing today."

"Ahhh, Cal. Get some rest and eat lots of chicken soup. You do sound tired. Take care of yourself."

"Thanks, Rita. You are a doll."

Cal presses the end button and his cell phone ends up on the floor. The dream came back to him much more clearly. He sits up, blinks his eyes, and knows what he must do.

Getting up out of bed Cal goes to the basement. He was shocked at what he saw and said to himself, "What happened here? I know my dreams have been quite strange lately. Am I also sleep walking?" Still wondering how his junk room had been transformed into something else. He sees an alter with candles arranged on the surface and a sacrificial knife lies diagonally on top of a red velvet cloth. This is exactly the way he wanted this room to be five years ago.

An electric jolt of pain is felt in Cal's chest and he is on his knees overwhelmed by the pain. It gets worse when he breathes and he gives in and collapses on the floor. The research he has been conducting on raising the entity, Mentos has been going on for at least five years. This is the moment he has been preparing for and hoping each year he is ready.

The ceiling crackles and cracks apart with the darkest smoke filling the basement with this voice, "Who has raised me shall have me with them from this time and forever."

Cal's body started rising off of the floor with his head fallen back and his limbs lying limp. Once the smoke enveloped him, he raised his head to look at his surroundings. With new eyes, Mentos finally achieved his desire, to reincarnate into another human body. He says, "I am back to live again." He cocks his head back and laughs and laughs.
