The Story chapter 20

The knight had a bizarre sight infront of him. He was in what appeared to be in a laboratory of some sorts. What was really bizrre, was that there was an orange monkey standing upright in a lab suite nearby. Also, the knight was bolted down on a table, and he was connected to wires.  He also noticed he was metallic. Confused he yelled: “Where am I?” If this had happened earlier, in the computer, he would have accepted this scenario, but he felt he wasn't in the computer anymore, which was more or less true. The monkey responded: “Greetings, I am Doctor Surlee. I have expected you to come to soon. How are you feeling?”

The knight responded: “I-I-I'm do-o-oing go-o-od I-I g-guess...”

“Well.” Replied the monkey. “You are doing well. If you can please stop stuttering and continue.”

“Did I just have a bright orange monkey correct my grammar?” Thought the knight, but outloud he said: “I have no idea where I am, nor who you are, but I am doing fine health wise, except I appear to have a strange metal suit, that I am fairly sure is not armor.”

“Ah yes, That is no ordinary metal suit. You were born (Well actually made in your case) with that suit. You see, you are a robot.”

That was too much for the knight to handle. “What?! I'm A robot?!”

“Yes I know it is confusing for you to understand, but we are at war against a certain kind of robot. They were training you to be a special robot in a virtual environment. I hacked the system to help get you out.”

“Tha-that was you? You were the doctor?”

“Among other people, yes.”

“Why didn't you help me earlier?! Why didn't you tell me eralier?!?”

“Ok, picture this. You have hacked a very important system to get someone valuable out. You directly tell them. It triggers keywords in the system, kicks you out, fixes the problem area in the security system where You came in, and brainwash the important person to believe the opposite of what You told them. That would have been A gigantic waste of time. Do you understand?”

“Yes I do. But what now? You've removed me from the system, but now what? I'm a robot in an antirobot land, I have no idea of the lifestyle, and most likely the robots will try to destroy/capture me.”

“Well I can't help that, but I will help as much as I can, as lomg as you help us.Deal?” Said the monkey as he held his hand.

“Um I am supposed to grab your and shake right, to show my confirmation, right? I know it sounds stupid, but I don't want to start off by doing something wrong.”

The monkey laughed and said: “Yes you do indeed grab the hand and shake for confirmation.”

The knight held out his hand and shook, or at least he would've if he didn't have a hand on that side.

He yelled: “You mean I don't have that hand, like in the simulation!? I'm supposed to be a weapon and they built me flawed?!”

“Erm about that. Us toons (that is what we are called) attacked the factory where you were being made, and they didn't have time to replace it. I tried to stop them, but they didn't listen.”

The knight held out his hand that actually existed and said : “Deal.”

And they shook hands.
