At midnight, under a shining full moon, the fairy court gathered together in Splendid Glen. Tonight there was a marvelous feast in celebration of the marriage of King Dusk of Tanglebloom and Queen Saffron of Hazelfield. Hundreds of fairies from both kingdoms flooded Splendid Glen, dancing on the watercourse with their tiny, light feet. When the feast commenced, they all sat down at a flat, round table fashioned from an ancient tree stump. The fairies toasted the happy couple while drinking wine from acorn tumblers, and enjoyed a gourmet meal of pan seared children's fingers with baby's dimples for dessert. Just before dawn, the king and queen shared their first dance under an arch of the finest gossamer, spun by the glen's most talented spiders. At last the fairy court joined their rulers in the sacred wedding dance, until they were far too weary to take even one step more. As the festivities died down, Queen Saffron kissed each of the courtiers on the forehead, and King Dusk blessed them all with stardust. The sun soon rose in the glen, and the yawning fairies retired to their toadstool houses. As for the newlywed king and queen, they flew south to honeymoon in Citrus Grove.
