The summer holidays are here at last -
a time for barbecues and drinking fast.

This planet's lucky few will fly abroad,
a treat that poorer people can't afford.

The living standards vary 'round the Earth
and some toil in the sun while others surf.

Though why, you ask, do you get blamed for that?
Around your town, you ain't the fattest cat.

The starving babes in Sudan aren't your fault;
America can't sanction mass default.

Those thirsty kids we see in Africa
aren't owed a cent by folks in Canada.

The Japanese will do just what they please,
avoiding stress by pruning bonsai trees.

Those guys down under know that life's a fight;
ask them to share, and you'll soon feel their bite.

The U.K. does quite okay for itself
as long as noone asks to share the wealth.

The rest of Europe "welcomes" refugees
although they'd better get down on their knees.

There is no cause for us to strut and boast;
a lucky birth was what gave us the most.

Take all you want, but don't forget the cost:
a million lying dead and Eden lost.
