Be Like The Guy

Glad to be single, hearing about friends' in-laws!

Sometimes I wonder if the guy
Is right, to be commitment-shy.
Because, I don't think I lie
Committed couples often sigh.

Commit between one and two
The simple little phrase, "I DO"
And chaos does ensue
Two becomes twenty-two.

You're committed to each other
And to each father and mother
And the sister and brother
And if you look further

You find you've made a commitment
To every lady and every gent
Who was, is and shall be sent
To the wider family's extent.

So maybe it's better, like the guy
To just be commitment-shy
Save the tears you're going to cry
And just use your wings to fly!
