I am a pathetic Old Man

Thoughts on life I have lived

I am a pathetic old man!
I lived my life, a mad romantic, an idealist
And I thought, tinged with realism
But life has taught me that realism is not romantic nor idealistic

In youth, middle age and finally old age
I have persevered
But I have realized that realism is just a passing phase
It is not right, nor just, nor admirable, it just is

I am a pathetic old man who will go to his grave
Being a mad romantic, an idealist,
I will fight the notion that realism is right
Simply because it is NOT!

When romanticism and idealism are overwhelmed
And people accept that as fact
Then humanity will end

I take pride in being a pathetic old man!
