Little kitty in my lap
purring while you sweetly nap.
On my leg, you knead your paws
making sure you sheathe your claws.
While lost in your dreams of chasing mice
I pet you once, then pet you twice.
And then you wake with toothy yawn
jump to the floor, and soon you're gone...
...until you think it's time to eat
then once again you're at my feet
yowling like you're slowly dying
so I feed you to stop your crying.
And when you're sated, once again
you're in my lap, my best friend
grooming yourself and snuggling down
'till dreamland has again been found.
