The night was dark and the air was filled with howling. In the distance, a pack of giant wolves was getting closer and closer. I could tell that they were hungry, and even from my hiding spot in the bushes, their teeth sparkled in the moonlight.
Suddenly, a giant kangaroo appeared like some sort of divine being. She was over 1000 feet tall, and her fur was so soft and white it was almost blinding. I watched in awe as she stretched out her arms and the ground started to shake. With a loud grunt, she sent the giant wolves running.
In a sweet, motherly voice, the giant kangaroo said, “Come, child. I will protect you from these monsters.” I didn’t hesitate. She gently scooped me up and placed me in her pouch.
Inside her pouch, I was warm and safe from the danger outside. The kangaroo rocked me back and forth, the motion soothing like a lullaby. Under her gentle protection, I quickly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning I woke up to find the giant kangaroo watching over me with a satisfied smile. “No harm will come to you here, my child. You are safe.”
I thanked the giant kangaroo for her kind assistance, and she smiled one more time before she leapt away into the sunrise. I may never know why she chose to protect me, but I am eternally grateful.
