You are drawing too near
The Lighthouse keeper and his wife
Are quite happy with their life.
They were isolated, this is true,
and sometimes their loneliness grew.

They warned the boats that drew near
Don't come any closer, turn from here.
Watching in horror, on a dark, foggy night
A boat fought hard to steer from the light.

The Captain turned the wheel with all his might
but knew in his heart that he had lost this fight.
The bow came crashing hard on the rocks,
The stern followed torn apart on the docks.

The husband called 'mayday' to the mainland
While the wife ran down to the rocks and sand.
She found an injured man trying to crawl,
He did not realize he had no legs at all.

She tried to help him but it was too late,
The horrid blood loss she could not abate.
She looked all over for survivors but found none.
The ocean had claimed all and left her undone.
