I come from an olden time
When every poem had to rhyme
And a confession I might regret
To get a rhyme for my couplet
I sometimes go down the alphabet.
It floats my boat
Is warm as a coat
My Mamma does dote
While Dad can gloat
But it gets your goat!
Cross the moat
With a note
For your favourite poet
And learn to quote
as if by rote the words you tote
While you vote
For what I wrote!
Remember - rhymes were the zygote!
