Trying to reach the end of a journey

Blown around unpredictably
Trying to reach our goal

You do something embarrassing
The wind rushes over you, pushing you backward
Back to where you were before
But you survive

A loved one dies
The wind is a storm, it sweeps you away
And fills you with grief,
But you survive

You try to stand your ground
Unwilling for things to change
But the wind persists
It always does

Eventually it dissipates
And then you realize
In your haste to fight against the wind
You didn’t notice
That it left you stronger, better, and
Further ahead on the journey that is life
