I ordered some powdered peanut butter from Amazon, it tastes great in smoothies. I think the combination of whey protein and plant protein works well.

On Saturday morning, I was going to take the day off from walking, so I would have Saturday and Sunday off. I changed my mind and went for my 40 minute walk, because I have had good results recently and didn’t want to inhibit my progress. Sunday is the only day off from walking before breakfast, unless it is raining.

Fitness is like a game, sometimes you win and sometimes you come in second or third place. If you can do everything right that day, you won. If you can win and maintain that for 20 days, then you’ll see real results.

On Sunday, my brother in law took me to Walmart, and I mitigated some of the damage by buying less junk food than I bought the last time I went there. I bought a quart of chocolate milk, a chicken pot pie, bananas, and some Dave’s killer bread bagels. I spent around $13.

The last time I went there I spent around $40 on junk food when I was at my lowest weight of 2025. I went from 286 back up to around 300 pounds. I need to figure out how to avoid temptation when he comes around and not buy junk food. I did get some Dave’s Killer Bread bagels that I had been meaning to try, and they were great and didn’t make me gain fat.

When it comes to managing your weight, you’re doing one of three things. Losing weight, gaining weight, or maintaining. When I look ahead to the summer or even further to after the new year, my goal is to be making progress in some way or another. I don’t want to regress again after making huge progress like I did when I got down to 259 pounds in April 2024, then got up to 300 pounds a year later.

You can either choose to exercise or not to exercise. If you choose to exercise, you need to progress to the point where you’re training twice a day. If you reach that point then stop training for a while, your stamina goes down and you have to start all over from a lower level.

Once you reach a high point in your training, you must maintain it and practice periodization. This is the best way to build more muscle and keep it.

I’ve been maintaining my walking schedule. I walk for 40 minutes before breakfast, every day except Sunday. I train arms one day, and shoulders the next, then take day three off. I’ve seen a lot of progress with my biceps and shoulders.

I’ve been cutting up apples and grapes and eating them for a snack. This is better than having sweets in my opinion, I think this is a breakthrough. Getting in shape is 90% diet. The reason I started eating grapes is because I read a recent study in mice proving that grapes helped increase muscle mass.

Here’s a metaphor: if you had to grab onto something painful to grasp, and after 20 seconds, for every second you held on, the amount of cash you get doubles, starting with one dollar. If you held on for a minute, you’d have at least one million dollars.

The same can be said for getting your diet dialed in. If you figured out how to eat in a way that maximized losing body fat, you should hold onto that technique for as long as you could. Eating fruit instead of candy or other junk foods is the solution I’ve been looking for!

Last week I went shopping with Eagle, he is the older brother of my brother in law. After going to two stores and getting groceries, we went to a restaurant where he bought me a sandwich. We ate in the car, and I inadvertently dropped half of my sandwich on the floor board.

Eagle commented on how I struggled to reach down and grab it because of my immense belly. Looking back, I can see that I need to lose a lot of weight, at least a hundred pounds.

I weighed in the high 280s in early March of this year, and I went up to 300 in mid April. This morning, I was 294.8 pounds, so I’m making progress in the right direction.

I’ve been lifting weights, mainly training biceps one day and shoulders the next. I forgot to mention that I ordered six 2.5 pound plates for my dumbbells, so I can train shoulders with 23.6 pounds on each side. I’ve also made personal records with biceps, curling 35 and 40 pounds on each dumbbell.

Over the past few years I’ve dieted from January to March or April, then turned into a bloat lord during the summer months and gained it all back. In addition to dieting this year, I’m upping the ante with my workouts.

I’m doing more repetitions during each set, and I’m lifting heavier weights. My goal is to lift frequently and consistently during this summer and try to get stronger on some of my lifts.

I’ve got nothing better to do with my time, and I’ve got plenty of time. Before, I had to go to gyms to train, but it took a long time to get there and get home. Now, I’ve got a lot of equipment to train with at home, so there’s no reason to skip workouts or to just lift the same weight each workout.

It’s been over a month since I last wrote in my fitness blog. I weighed 299 pounds yesterday and 297 pounds this morning. My downfall was going to Walmart with my brother in law Mikela and buying $40 worth of junk food. I stayed on a junk food kick until this past weekend.

I decided that in an emergency if I needed to catch the bus I’m too out of shape now, so my goal is to lose weight and build muscle until I’m at a healthy body fat percentage and a healthy blood pressure. The bus stop is a mile and a half away, so at close to 300 pounds that’s too far for me right now.

I’ve been walking each morning for 20 minutes over the past two days, and I’ve started lifting weights again. I got a really good pump in my biceps today, they felt great! I did two sets with 35 pounds and four sets with 40 pounds.

I’ve stayed away from junk food for the past two days, and I’ve been watching Generation Iron videos I bought from iTunes for inspiration.

Pursuing extrinsic aspirations such as financial success isn’t as important as having a healthy body.

I’ve been staying around 288 pounds, sometimes less than that. I can’t stay in enough of a deficit to lose more weight. I started walking and listening to FM radio with my cell phone and Skull candy headphones, I walk greater amounts of time that way. Today and for the next few days it is raining, so I can only lift weights. I’m looking forward to walking again when the rain lets up.

I weighed 288.6 pounds this morning. I train with weights four days in a row, and take three days off. The difference now compared to the past is that I look forward to my training days instead of looking forward to my rest days.

It’s hard to believe that I’m finally in the 280s. I want to go as long as possible without getting junk food. I don’t want to give up the progress I’ve made recently for fleeting pleasures.

I bought a Captain America shaker cup from Amazon recently. I saw Calum Von Moger using a shaker cup in Generation Iron 2, and that made me want one. I stopped eating plain non-fat Greek yogurt with my oatmeal in the mornings, I use a scoop of whey protein powder and I ounces of water that I shake up in my shaker cup. I think this might be a reason I’m losing so much weight.

I weighed in the 290s for around five months, I was 292 and some change a few days ago. On Tuesday February 25th, I had to walk and ride my bicycle 3.5 miles to an appointment. I had to get my blood drawn on an empty stomach. I ate a sandwich and drank a pint of low-fat milk at a store on the way home.

When I got home, I had walked and ridden 7 miles round trip.

When I woke up the next day, I was 289.4 pounds! This morning I was 289.8 pounds. Fasted cardio definitely did the trick. I have another appointment on the 20th of March to check my blood pressure, and I will be walking there. Hopefully, I lose more weight!
