We have gotten rid of things that spoke value into our lives, relationships, and Country.
As my young granddaughter came in from a date last night, I watched the young man drive off before she even got into the house. The thought crossed my mind that that would not have happened in my day, or he and his family would have heard about it, and that would been the end of that relationship.

So many good things have gone out the window with our coming of age in America --

MEN
1. Men no longer open doors for women
2. Men no longer pick their lady-friends up at the door
3. Men no longer make sure that their girlfriends are safely inside before driving off
4. Men no longer stand when women enter the room
5. Men no longer give up their seats for women who are standing
6. Men no longer pay for movies, dinner, cab, taxi, or uber
7. Men no longer refuse to change the baby's diaper, make bottles, or do "other women's work"
8. Men no longer respect women or treat them as the weaker sex
9. Men no longer acknowledge the differences in the seses
10... and some calls this progress.

WOMEN
1. Women no longer want men to open doors for them
2. Women no longer want to be picked up at their door
3. Women no longer want men to make sure they are safely inside before driving off
4. Women no longer want men to stand when they enter the room
5. Women no longer want men to give up their seats for them
6. Women no longer want men to pay for movies, dinner, cab, taxi, or uber
7. Women no longer want men to change the baby's diaper, make bottles, but also to do other work around the house and with the children
8. Women no longer want men to respect them or treat them as the weaker sex but as equal partners
9. Women no longer want men to acknowledge the differences in the seses
10... and some women call this progress.

Me, I say that we have gone too far on both sides!

1. Yes, please hold the doors open for me, and I will do the same for you regardless of gender
2. Yes, please pick me up at my door, not in your car, and walk me to your car and back to my door when we return
3. Yes, please make sure I am safely inside before driving off
4. Yes, stand when I enter the room; if I am coming to meet you, I want people to know that we are together
5. Yes, if you are seated and no seats are left, please give up your seat for me, I will love it
6. Yes, if you invite me out for movies, dinner, or other event, pick up the tab unless we have agreed to go double dutch
7. Yes, if you are bringing home the bacon, and I do not work, I will take care of you, our home, and our children, but help with the baby's diaper, making bottles, or "other work" that makes our house a home
8. Yes, I want to be respected on all levels, not because I am the weaker sex, but because we are partners, friends, or just two people
9. Yes, there is a difference between sexes even if they have undergone processes to change themselves; no ifs ands or buts about it. That is where respect comes in.
10. Now, that is what I call this progress, and I still have room to grow.

Although men's and women's bodies are different, and their approaches to things are different, I believe we all want the same thing—the best this life can give us!

Do and be unto others as you would have them do and be unto YOU!
