Lookng through my bedroom window I see,
A pair of familiar chipmunks playing merrily,
They seem to be enjoying entertaining me.
Watching the Blue Jays, Red Cardinals, and Gold Finches as they fly,
All around the seed feeders, excited and awry,
Their colors so vivid as they pass me by.
Through the screen in my window, fresh cut grass I can smell,
The moist dew on the grass, an aged wooden bucket in the well,
The lush lawn appears like a roll of quilted cottonelle.
The flowers in my garden, Daises, Hollyhocks, a single pink Rose,
All the aromas they expel gives wanting pleasures to the nose,
Like soft music to the ears, a symphony to compose.
On my window box there sits my pals Ethel and Fred,
They are bright eyed bushy tailed squirrels waiting to be fed,
Eating here is a treasure, they have nothing to dread.
Along my white picket fence my creamy orange lilies do bloom,
As I take notice of a fluffy rabbit stopping to groom,
I wish I could rent all my animal friends a spare room.
Now, this time of day I sit wondering why,
My street is so busy with all the cars that pass by,
Many colored makes and models, on this you can rely.
I live next to the Police Station, am friends with our men in blue,
I have found new admiration since the September 11th slew,
And next to the Police Station sits the firemen crew,
I share heartfelt admiration for our firefighters too.
Across the black tar street is our towns Middle School,
There our children are taught well, to be nobody's fool,
All the kids are so special, they think I'm real cool,
But my sons not my fan, he says I'm a shrew.
Now the teens are dismissed from their classes by afternoon,
They stop in to say "Hi", the girls make-up like a raccoon,
And the boys who stop by look like they've stepped out of a cartoon!
But I always encourage them to stop by and re-visit real soon.
Through my crystal clear window I watch the kids on their Rollerblades,
Doing all kinds of tricks, always amazed by their talented ways,
I hope throughout their years, their talent never strays.
As the afternoon winds down, the evening flows in silent and mystically,
As the ebbing of light casts eerie shadows around the old oak tree,
Time now for good-night, we say our prayers on bended knee.
My white cape house is now as silent as can be,
I've told you about "Through my Bedroom Window", what I see,
Then I look through my humble abode, at my own small quaint family.
And I realize that I'm lucky and contented with just us three,
God has truly blessed my comfortable house, and especially has blessed me!
