I grew up during the sixties and followed the most popular novelists of the day. There came a time when I realized that I had imprinted something intangible on myself. The writers were teaching me the elements of the story. I became a critic--an uneducated snob hiding behind the "I know what I like" flag. As the years wore on I became less sure of my ability to understand the structure of the creative process, opted for a much more physical life--I learned to fly, scuba dive and ride a nuclear submarine during the Vietnam War. I have returned to the University to study writing and armed with the secrets I discovered, I will write on!
