Summary of this Book...
This is a group of three books based around Elise Kavanagh, a retired demon hunter. She is forced out of retirement and made to face a demon, last time she battled this demon the earth was a few seconds away from colliding with Hell. She couldn't let that happen again. The first book is entitled, "Death's Hand". The second book, entitled "The Darkest Gate", Elise is forced to ally herself with the demons in order to defeat a rogue demon hunter. This tests Elise's morals to the max. The third book, entitles "Dark Union" focusses around a summit of the most powerful ethereal and infernal beings. This summit takes place every 50 years, and this time around it's in Elise's territory. A fellow demon-hunter asks her to attend the summit in his place. When she arrives, she finds a rogue faction of humans has taken control of the summit and have killed an important summit member. She is forced to police the situation, anyway she can.
This type of Book is good for...
Entertainment. It's also quite long, approximately 200,000 words, so bare that in mind if you chose to buy it.
I especially liked... | ||
The demons. Usually, you get vampires and a rogue vampire or a summit of vampires. This was demons and it seemed just a little more different than some supernatural themed books.
I didn't like... | ||
The length was an issue. It wouldn't have been if they weren't in one large ebook, but they were and it did test my patience a little when I was nearing the end.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Sleep! My eyes were suffering by this point as I'd read the whole 200,000 words in one sitting in about 7 hours. Needless to say my eyes didn't agree with that.
Further Comments... | ||
Overall, a good original story and one I did enjoy. I think the length was a bit over the top and could be split into the three seperate books they should be. They'd be long enough each. Can you imagine if the Harry Potter series was only spread across 1 or 2 ebooks? I'm sorry for any grammatical issues in this piece. I'd literally just finished the book when I began the review, so my eyes were already screaming at me come this point and I may not have caught some errors.
