Summary of this Book...
Brain Building in Just 12 Weeks NOTE: This review is a WORK IN PROGRESS. folkse see the comment section below so you will understand why this section may have typos and such at this time. Okay, do I recommend this book? Yes and no. It is fun to play around with therefore yes. It probably was not really written by Marilyn vos Savant. It was probably written by Leonore Fleischer. Marilyn probably had to give it her stamp of approval and lending her name made it much more profitable, I am sure! Marilyn did have some input if her husband's words are to be believed. In his foreword, he talks about setting the book in its unfinished state and adding to write the foreword. How cool is that? A book about getting smarter written by a genius with a foreword by the fellow who created the world's first successful artificial heart. An amazing duo! And Leonore makes three. Before I complete the final draft of this review, I need to see if I can find out more about her and her connection with this amazing couple. This is an old book. You can probably find much better things on the internet to help you develop brain power. I think basically the premise of this book is that the more to use your brain, the Bette your brain works. One thing that is definitely true is that if to want your brain to work well you MUST use it. There are 15 chapters. The first four cover week one of this twelve week program. Chapters 5-14 are the building this, that and the other chapters. Chapter 15, week 12 is entitled"The well-Built Mind" I don't practically care for what is in that last chapter. Readers are encouraged to realize or be aware of when we are drawing a conclusion. It is rightly pointed out that conclusions are not facts but to me, a week thought it conclusion is still a thing of value. I also disagreed with some do called facts in this last chapter and elsewhere in this book. Just because to are considered a genius does not transform your opinions into facts. I disagree whole-heartedly with some things presented in this book. Putting this difference of opinion aside, Brain Building in just Twelve Weeks does contain some fun exercises and some interesting exercises. Do they work? Does this program of study give us bigger, stronger brand after just Twelve Weeks? Have any readers actually give through this book one week at a time, competing all the given assignments? I know I have not. What did I do? I think I flipped through looking at chaos that caught my eye. I am pretty sure I also skimmed through the entire book. I kept the book. I did some of the exercises. I critiqued some of the statements made in it as I read. I was intrigued. I was bored. Hmmm, do I recommend this book? Yes and no...
