I was born and raised in E. St. Louis, IL My mother raised us because of my father's illness. This was a woman who dropped out of 8th grade to help care for her siblings. When my father got sick, she got her GED and went back to work. She successfully raised 5 kids ensuring that they had the best education possible.So the first thing about me is that my mother was my hero. She loved to read and told me often that I could travel the world through the pages of a book.
