My cousin Divya has a cat named SALT. Salt is currently in hospital and we are worried. She thinks of him as her little baby. Please pray for the cat SALT. |
Sending good thoughts to your cousin and Salt. Long ago my Mopsy had a hospital stay, and I can imagine what your cousin is going through. Mopsy's stay turned out good, and I hope Salt's is the same. Love to all. |
I wish for Salt to make a full recovery. ❤️ |
With Merremy Christmas! getting all of us thinking 'holiday movies', I want to ask: What's the ONE element that a holiday-themed movie MUST have, according to you? |
For me— A Christmas movie has to have the element of hope. Hope for unity, hope for togetherness, hope for your fellow human, hope for the future, hope for the healing of past transgressions, hope for us to become better versions of ourselves, hope for us to remember we are all brothers and sisters. We share this rock hurtling through space and we can accomplish so much more when we embrace this hope and act with humility and humanity |
iKïyå§ama Oh, that sig! I it! Thanks for the note, you make me blush ! And thanks for everything you do around here to make this online home what it is! |
"12 Days Of Christmas 2024" Hey Sonali! I really enjoyed collaborating on the Poetry Pals with you. I hope your holiday season is filled with love and fun times |
Task #8 of "12 Days Of Christmas 2024" Eight-reindeer acrostic Rani is her name, she is the Queen, the leader of the team that pulls the sleigh! Ernie is named after the driver of the Knight Bus, he is good with magical transportation! Indrajit is a valuable member of the team, for he is the Lord of the Sky Narayan - the Power of the Universe is the strength that makes the task easy Durga the Invincible does not give up and urges team-mates on Eklavya - for he loves learning and is constantly teaching himself and his fellow reindeer new things Esha, for her name means 'gliding' and she sets the pace Ravi - for he is radiance, and gives the true glow of the season! |
Task #5 of "12 Days Of Christmas 2024" Favourite Holiday Songs I guess you mean any holiday in any culture! Well, here goes: 1. Govinda Ala Re Ala A fun song celebrating the birth of my Lord Krishna. The legend is, the child Krishna stole butter (symbolising the human ego) ... so I've grown up in Mumbai watching street boys make great human pyramids to whack at an earthen bowl of butter suspended from one apartment to another. I could only find Bollywood versions of the folk tune, here's one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z60TE_JDsJE&t=2s 2. Om Jay Jagadish Hare Another childhood memory. I used to be the one holding the lights and turning them to the tune, while my family stood in rows behind me. (Later I heard my younger cousins were jealous of my role in this festival!) This was for the birthday of our Lord Ganesh. Here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE3SWh9_vR4&t=26s 3. Diwali Diwali Ane Wali Hai A song anticipating Diwali and the treats in store. My cousin composed the music, and it's sung by a choir of children. It was composed long ago, not sure if it is available online. 4. Mary's Boy Child I love Harry Belafonte's version of this song. It's just enchanting. 5. On the Very First Day of the Year The tune is very catchy and makes me want to sing along. I have heard Jim Reeves sing this one. |
For task #4 of "12 Days Of Christmas 2024" 1. The job she just landed is a real plum cake! 2. The poor kid has a sleigh-load of holiday ho-ho-homework! 3. My teacher has a Santa-sack full of teaching aids! 4. He's a real reindeer, the way he gets all the deliveries done on time! |
For Task #3 of "12 Days Of Christmas 2024" I was lucky to be in a very good school (JB Petit, Mumbai), where my teachers - right from Kindergarten to Grade 10 - encouraged my writing, as did the Principal. So, really, I got all the advice I needed! However, since the task involves three pieces of advice I wish I'd had: 1. Write it down because you won't remember it later! When you get that bright idea, put it down somewhere immediately, don't count on remembering it afterwards! 2. Plan and Plot before you pen So that you don't write yourself into a corner. This is especially true of longer works. 3. Write what you want the way you want! Go with your gut and your heart. At least to start with. Then, listen to the critics you respect and see which feedback you want to take on board. |
For Task #2 of "12 Days Of Christmas 2024" UNCLE VERNON - Harry Potter's uncle - deserves to be on the NICE list because he didn't walk out on his wife, Petunia, through everything he faced because of her nephew. RON WEASLEY deserves to be on the 'naughty' list because he didn't believe that Harry hadn't put his name in the Goblet of Fire and he caused Harry a lot of anguish. |
For Task #1 of "12 Days Of Christmas 2024" - I highlight Maryann Maryann was one of the first friends I made on WDC. I love the way she runs "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group" - she really knows how to motivate people! Thanks for everything you do around here, Maryann! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family. |
