Review of What do I do?  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (4.0)
you can do nothing. one thing i have learned is you cannot control others and their actions. this is part of life. she will have to learn for herself what a jerk he is. everyone thinks they are the one that can change a person well they cant. i feel the frustration in your tone. doesn't sound like she is your best friend anymore. perhaps you've grown apart maybe you could examine that a little more. everyone changes some refuse to see the changes and are confused. sometimes we live in the dark too afraid to admit our friends may not be like us anymore. something to think about.

yes why do we fall when we know it is going to hurt? love this poem. it hurts i believe because we always have hope that maybe this time it will work and we want to believe our heart is sure. i hate love. yuk.

it's funny how we as human beings have forgotten about God in our life and how he works. we rely so much on technology and science which are all very important(and couldn't have occurred without him as well in my opinion) your poem touches on how we have lost faith in faith itself. at least that is my take on it. we will never truly know the mysteries of life because only God knows.

Review of Silence my Soul  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (4.5)
why is it so hard to even understand ourselves at times? we can spend countless hours trying to figure out another person and how that person fits into our life. sometimes i think the fantasy may be better than the reality. i too suffer from this soul searching, heart wrenching, inability to communicate with the person of my adoration. silence will only work for awhile until there is nothing left to do but not be silent. waiting games are hard he could be waiting too. i think that is the torment and the irony. you and he could both be waiting for each other to make the first move. someone has to take the chance or risk losing each other forever.

Review of I want her  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (4.5)
I can certainly tell what you want. Your thoughts are very clear almost manic really. It is good to have desires . there is something wonderful about that 'wanting' feeling yet at the same time something so torturous as well. does she want you back? the question of the ages. will you ever know? hmmm.. have to be brave and find out guess. i sometimes think our heart knows what we want better than our head if that answers your question about the weirness of your feeling. you are not alone on that one. the mystery is what makes it exciting. most people lose desire for those they know already, it is the one you want to get to know that's where the fun is.

I love this:) wow. do-0vers I believe in those too. learning is important and fear comes with the territory of love. making wishes never hurt anyone. wishes sometimes to come true. i live in reality too but sometimes the fantasy is much better. your last few lines are wonderful. You are a romantic at heart, never giving up. nicely done.

Review of 3:05AM  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: 18+ | (4.0)
boy this is kind of tough to read. i feel bad for this person and have been there myself. it would be so easy to hide ourselves and not grow up, to not take responsibility for who we are and the choices we make but that 's what is tough about life. finding yourself is the journey. good luck , i know i am still searching. writing has been one form for me to truly find my voice. growing up is not so bad really:)

Review of Stood Up  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (4.5)
it is funny how we try to rationalize other people's behavior making excuses for why they do what they do or why they are the way they are. it sucks to be stood up, it digs right into your own self worth when in reality it is the other persons' problem for not giving you a chance at all. he or she is missing out. at least have the guts to call and cancel, i wouldn't want to go out with that person anyway, no courtesy. nicely written.,I could feel this man's frustration. as a woman I probably wouldn 't have waited that long before i left and might not have been as generous with the excuses for why he didn't show up. go figure:)

Review of IN THE SHADOWS...  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (4.5)
this reminds me of unrequited love, love that cannot be had. this is a nice poem. the images are good. soul smile, heart slave, stale roses , darkness breathing, I love wordplay and putting words together. this poem speaks to the soul of a person , it makes me sad. I know this kind of pain and i have dealt this kind of pain to another. love bites but it is also the most beautiful feeling in the world. go figure a paradox.

Review of Exes  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: 13+ | (4.5)
good poem i read this because i am going through a divorce right now. the dreaded ex phase i have not reached yet. i feel the sadness and frustration in your words. there is such a cold truth in the fact we can never go back , not even friends. i get a kick out of the old saying let's be friends. i don't think that is really possible. too much damage.

excellent. I enjoyed this very much and have pondered the very same thing. i guess life is what you make it so some people choose chaos while others choose peace. sometimes life forces us to make a choice but in the end all we really want is peace. find it when you can , wherever you can.

nice. to the point very direct and very true. we are all on here to be heard in some manner. i started writing for cathartic purposes but i think i have a lot to say to others. i hope someday my voice can be heard.

this is a nice poem. I have several rose bushes and I was just talking to my friend about them and thinking about how hearty roses are and beautiful and varied, like love can be. love should be just like your poem too bad sometimes it ends up with too many thorns or nasty bugs that eat away at them.

Review of Wonder Woman  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon

Too bad all women couldn't feel like this. I like how you emphasize her strength by keeping that line by itself. It is very hard to to in the world we live in to be that proud , power within , type of woman. I myself struggle but it is worth the fight. I am starting to finally love myself and there is power and strength in that. nice poem:)

i love the title that drew me to this poem right away. I like how you portray aloneness as an ideal throughout your poem, something to acquire but at the end the ironic twist that you yourself can never be with Alone for that reason. there is a differnce between being alone (which i personally prefer at this time) than lonliness. is your character fearing lonliness? or pursueing the art of being alone? I loved this. this poem resonates so well with me.

Review of Open Palms  Open in new Window.

i wrote a poem similar to this. the idea about losing who you are, the grief that comes with along with it. this is a sad reminder of what we lose. your spirit can be felt in this one. i like the idea about opening the palm good visual. but with everything we let go of there is something better to replace it with so hold on to that. great poem.

nice. to the point. so true . i have been overcome with inspiration as of late. in fact this morning as i walked the track i wanted to get back in as quickly as possible so i could write my ideas down. i kept then in my head until i was finished because it became a battle of wills:) i think we are all inspired in our own way. for example, i am going through a divorce that has jumpstarted me in so many ways and from that point on it seems i can find a lot to say about anything. never feeling satisified does this reference the idea of never having enough? in life we are always trying to have it all instead of appreciating what we already have. as a writer i am learning to let go and just be. the thoughts will come if you open yourself up to them. well done.

Review of Charma  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon

this is so true. i am a firm believer in Karma. i love the personification of karma but does it have to be a she?(LOL) some might think women are the only ones who are vengeful but what about the Gods? they were men and they were vengeful bringing their wrath upon those who deserved it. sorry i am just thinking out loud. i really thought this was a great poem. what comes around definately goes around, do unto others and all that applies:) happy writing!

This story reminds me a bit of The Pathfinder in that you have what seems to be a wanderer, a man of nature? I am interested to hear more of his past and wonder if you have a description of him. I have an image in my head. Is he Indian? I get this from the mention of elders. I would read more to find out what this "art" is that is so dangerous. very good story. good flow, nice descriptions.

Review of SEARCHING MYSELF  Open in new Window.
Review by daynasvoice Author IconMail Icon
Rated: E | (5.0)
still searching? we get bogged down in life we often forget ourselves in the process. the journey never stops , interrupted sometimes but we must continue to search for who we are. gentle reminders like raindrops can do this. I like this poem very much. my only suggestion is to capitalize the i but on the other hand if you feel insignificant a small i would make sense, not sure of yourself, not ready to say I and mean it. just my thoughts.
