This is a very interesting story to me. The story is based around a glass of water yet it highlights the desires between the active youth and the weakening elderly.
The discription of "every character should what something" is what made me want to read this short but I was expecting a lesson on character developmemt and not on desire of the individual in a single moment. The two individuals presented in this work seem more real to me than the majority of which I've read about.
This story made me connect with the grandfarther and I feel pitty for him at the challenge of picking up a glass of water weights so much on his mind. Now, if you parden me, I need to get a drink.
As far as pop culture goes, you nailed the references. There is a feeling of free association in this peom where the connection between concepts are child-like and indirect. Its almost like reading the plot of a dream. The individaul lines have no connected meaning except for out of context and yet when viewed as a whole the poem turns into a thought pattern. Nicely done, very interesting, and no, monkeys don't fly.
It is always fun to read about someone else's creative adventure! You have an emotional appeal to your writings that I can relate to. I am also very impressed by your openness - despite not being very dramatic - to talk about how your life influenced your creative works, because for may people childhood influences on their art can be touchy subjects. I would love to read the next update!
I answered for the most part as there is a disconnect with what I was looking for and what I find; however, a new pred is always fun and the interesting twists of having an interactive story written by many authors is always a leap of faith that I seem to want to take. I go to your stories more than most because you set a realistic start and people tent to continue that feeling in later chapters - not saying that these stories are 100% realistic - creating a world worth reading about. So yes your stories are enjoyable for me as realisticly new is what I'm looking for in such stories.
This small free verse peom explain the simple truths in life in the simplest of ways. Using antonims of wolds descriding the back and forth up and down motions that everyone experences in life. The "little" in text might be some of the biggest wold one might incounter in life, worlds so simple yet so big. Words so simple yet so sad. Words so simple yet of joyful. The little words indeed make the difference.
P.S. sorry for incorrect spelling my auto-spell thingy on my computer won't let me write some wolds correctly. :P
