Love is light and darkness is the absence of love. I loved once upon a dream but alas without direct inclusion and interaction it dies and darkness prevails yet again. Most of the time we are in darkness. Light only happens once in awhile when we stumble upon it within ourselves.

Yes, death is an end but also a beginning. We die more than once in life and there are many different reasons. I died when, father died at 12. I died each time I became homeless. I died when my dog passed away. I would give you gift points but I am empty at present, sorry.

On Capital Hill every deal has a string;
When the greedy and corrupt play and sing.
Where money is the focus and law's corrupt.
Where the speaker does keep score without interrupt.
Ensuring that the status quo will never win.

Back in the day their rules were crystal clear,
When money took second versus those held dear.
Justice reigned over the corrupt on Capital Hill.

These days truths are twisted into many lies.
Where they lay in wait greasing their wallets.
Where fake news comes from their flapping lips.
We bare witness to a nation in debt.
Enslaved to the point of collapse and ruin.
Because morality is lost upon a greedy hand.

In God We Trust?!

Very well written. You see all can be achieved if we use the old ancient method of just printing money and funding government at 100% rather than debt chasing and crying broke which is a sad joke. Right now due to restrictions that were lobbied in place we have a reactionary governmental model in practice. Have you ever noticed that in politics present day the powers that be react to things after the tragedies have occurred? A sad truth.

The monetary values are based upon the needs of the few over the many trying to retain their grips on the market they have and not on the infinite value of life itself. We have to stop this practice of trying to place a value upon life.

A single currency where all are equal has to be based on life and its infinite value and not the current idea of a fractured world creating suffering and death through inaction based upon material wealth.

A proactive society is required in order to promote life and sustain it! Global warming is here to stay for example and we all know that the waters are rising so where are the efforts to try and retain land mass?

Please keep writing and I hope my idea takes root with everyone about freeing humanities potential rather than stifling it.

This is very well written. I don't see the need for improvements. This reads great as it stands.

Suggestions:
The Grandmother can be developed a bit more. A first name would be nice.

The poltergeist could also.

David could sleep over at his Grandmother's in order to try and reassure her.

David can also be developed a bit more. Getting into his habits, debts, gambling, a few run ins with Dolan.

One of the suggestions that I have for this site is when you are looking for something or someone specific to review that on the pop up you include whether or not I have already given them a review.

Oh you figure this out as you go through the piece; "Oh, I already reviewed it." and move on but this would speed up the process.

Well some challenges in life are too difficult to overcome by will alone. Money is required in order to smooth out the wrinkles in your grand design.

You are correct, our demons such as self doubt can plague us if we allow for them to do so.

Paper wins in their world run with the pursuit of monetary superiority AKA GREED Vs Love (personal experience) sadly.

When you are against the wall financially there are times when despair feels like your friend that's true. Look at my art for example. I wish to sing them but having no funds makes it difficult.

But I keep a stiff upper lip as the saying goes and I keep smiling even when I am crying on the inside.

as always this is wonderfully done.

Yes I battle depressions grip each and every day. Getting out of bed is step one, followed by the daily care rituals.

I am unemployed since December last. The hardest part is actually finding reason to go outside.

Well you must be a fan of Kabuki Theater your very perceptive. They release their emotions through their performance.

Although you can cap your negative emotions it is healthy to communicate them in such a way as to release them. My way of doing this is through my efforts at writing.

I have always been enthralled by the flow of time.

I remember as a child hearing this old standard "Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can. Seldom found in woman, yet never found in man." Not sure who said it but I have been trying to prove it wrong ever since.

I agree.

But some dreams do get tampered with because of the dreams and goals of others, you just have to keep trying different plays to see what will work.

The direct approach is best. Face to face along with a firm hand shake. I also believe that life is a team sport.

I enjoyed this piece, it left me wanting to know more about the central character, why he was chosen and for what purpose?

It also left me wanting to learn more from the perspective of the retired historian.

Santorini, Greece would be the perfect back drop for your historian. I took a trip there, twice.

Very secluded, beautiful as well as rugged. Not close to any major population centers and its a haven of sorts.
