This is fantastic! As anyone with a loved one enduring the detachment from reality that comes with Alzhiemer's will attest, this story is a moving portrayal of the ravages this disease wreaks on the brain/memory.

This story extends dignity to those who suffer from this disease by showing the behavior is as painful to the the person as it is for the family. I would encourage anyone who has a loved one diagnosed with Alzhiemers or severe dementia to read this excellently written story!

Wow! As I was reading this I kept wondering if the author sat down and just let what was in the heart pour out or if the intent was by design - to create a story to represent the desperation of feelings in a lonely heart. Either way, the words were captivating as they drew the reader in - wondering what conclusion the writer comes to.

Through the years I've had a couple friends commit suicide, reading this story I wondered if they struggled with similar intense, lost feelings and, how tragic that they can't know that the pain and void of their suicide is something family and friends never recover from.

As a chocolate fiend myself - this story resonated with the chocolate monster that resides within me. I thought the whole concept was entertaining ... the platform of every "XYZ Annonymous" out there. I enjoyed reading this story - the author's tongue in cheek humor was well written.

I think this was an interesting snippet of reality - of what is probably going through the mind of a girl waging an "emotional stand-off " with her mother.

It was intriguing how the writer focused on the mother and sister of a girl who obviously died from an eating disorder - the implication of the grief, anger, and confusion of the sister. I liked the way the girls thoughts were written ... she was attuned to what her mother was wanting from her, yet, her mind "side-stepped" any possibility of losing emotional control by focusing on her cuticles/nails.
