I haven't come across any speed cops yet, though. I find, as you get older, only your doctor tells you to slow down.... everyone else is telling you to 'get a move on' apparently for 'Pete's sake', 'though I don't recall Pete ever doing anything for my sake so Pete can go hang and I'll shuffle at my own pace.
I love the optimism of your piece while acknowledging the inevitable pains one endures as we get older. Well written.
I like this, Kay. Good writing tells more than the sum total of the words. This sets the scene very clearly and puts the reader "there".
Bag of hair..... hmmmm! Let me see.....
Could be a wig-maker with a bag of raw materials. Could be someone who runs a mobile hairdressing service..... er..... in the car. Could have been a serial killer who keeps a lock of hair from each of the victims (OK we won't dwell on that). Could be the starting point for a mystery thriller.
Yup. It was read all right and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! I'm still chuckling and it's WAY past my bedtime. Nurse is looking impatient... she wants to give me my meds and go home.
I like this! It's got that tumbling flow that Tom Waites does so well. I can't really offer any constructive critique because.... well, it's already constructed. Nice job!
This flowed so easy, it was like honey. Once it starts, it can't stop. I think, if a fire alarm had gone off while I was reading this, I'd have had to burn.
You write so well and this was a joy to read. Thanks for sharing this.
You make the point very well. This sense of racial superiority has not only robbed other races of their dignity but also of our ability to take pride in our history. Well writen, well put.
I remember when I was 45, I decided it was time I had a mid-life crisis. All my friends were having mid-life crises and going out and buying Harleys, wearing leather trousers... looked like fun.
I went and got my ear pierced. It was four days before anybody noticed!! Oh well.......
