Inspiring tale, and well written.

Speaking strategically, silly people (a.k.a. rude, bad, or evil people), actually provide superb openings for counter-attacks; but, to avail oneself of them requires wit, and self-discipline.

Very enjoyable anecdote!

Very nice!

You have pleasantly captured the mood of drifting from consciousness to oblivion; I especially like the lines, "Now I lie on the outskirts of dreaming; Where waking and sleeping are pressed."

The rhyme and rhythm are actually moving the narrative, instead of breaking it; a common failure that is not so easily avoided.
