Interesting style, I haven't seen a rictameter before. For the following part, I hope you will excuse any gross ignorance or poor advice, I am in general a master only at putting my foot in my own mouth.

Though it is certainly powerful and moving, I am a little concerned about your seeming stance on the interchangability of Islam and terrorism or anti-Western sentiment. Pro jihadi muslims only represent a small and radical portion of the islam faith. Though I do agree that elements of Islam such as the shar'iat and theocratic Islamic governments seem to promote isolationalism and aggression, I am not of the belief that the relegion itself inherently prone to either of these things. Your stance here, to me, sounds similar to someone saying "modern Christianity is intolerant and actively desecrates other faiths because that Preacher in the USA tried to burn a bunch of Korans".

I know this is a personal opinion, and I am by no means sure of my stance on the matter, but I would advise caution when making generalizations on a relegion based on its most radical members. It is easy to do, I've done it all the time and whenever I fear I may be making a hasty generalization, I analyze two things about myself. Firstly, what is my social location? With this question I asked myself what about my environment has shaped my opinions. If you have lived in an area that has a strong anti-muslim mindset, you may want be sure you have dissected where social opinion ends and truth begins. The second question I ask myself is "What are my personal motivations?". For these you can simply try and see why the generalization would better benefit you or your argument.

I hope this doesn't sound like a lecture. I know you are a very successful writer and doctor, and I would not presume to suggest that I am intellectually comprable in any way, but as my dad used to say, "you can learn something important from anyone". While I am not an expert on Islam, poetry, or politics, I believe I am very proficient at analyzing underlying motivations.
