This is an amazing poem. I didn't get a chance to sit with my grandmother before she passed away. I was there at her home, and the nurse wouldn't let me in the house. A few months later, she passed away, but I know had I been able to see her she would have said something to me like this. The only small critique that I have is the third to last line. I think to make this line pop. I would place a common between (Have a journey, have an adventure). Other than that this poem speaks to my heart. It is so beautiful, and thank you for sharing.
So lets start with what I thought this poem was going to be about. So I totally thought this was going to be a political poem and I was soooooo ready for it. However, this was the poem about the walls that we as humans, also the writer, puts up to protect themselves. I think you did an amazing job. I liked the subtle rhyme scheme that you applied, and the visual elements. This was a very good poem. You should be proud. I see that you are new to the site. Keep Up the Great Writing.
This is a very entertaining read. As I was going through the stanza's I was like of this sounds like a carrot. To get to the end and find out that it was, was the best part. I love the rhyme scheme, and the humor that fills the lines in the poem. You did a very good job of making it easy to read, and informative. Great Job.
This is a very fun and funny poem. The scheme through me off a bit, but after I got past it, I saw how nice it really is. The only real critique that I have is just to make sure when you are ending a line, that you make sure to capitalize your next line. Other than that, good job.
This is a very deep poem. I like the rhyming scheme. Most of the poems that I review normally have a rhyming scheme. This one it took me just a little while to catch on too, but when I caught on it got good.
When I read this I see an individual who is suffering from demons, that eventually lead to their destruction. However, out of destruction, there is an ability to begin again. Nice Job.
This is a very nice poem. I am assuming it was for a contest. When I read this I see winter overtaking fall. Many people hate this time of the year, because when its cold we tend to stay in. When we stay in we tend to think about the things we didn't accomplish. This seems like a poem about things that didn't get accomplished and winter is the sign that its about to be too late.
This is a great review of how pleasant the peace of solitude can truly be. It reminds me of the days that I go into the city and just walk around the monuments. The best pieces of poetry are those that you can see or have experienced in real life. Not all poetry has to be painful, but not all has to be beautiful. Some poems just are...This just is.
WHOA!!!! I don't know why reading this poem made me smile from beginning to end. I love the way you wrote out the rhyme scheme. Its absolutely amazing. When you can look at someone's work and want to imitate it, that should be the greatest form of flattery. There are very few poems that I can say I would like to write like, but this is one of them. The content was captivating, and kept me hooked to the very end. Great Job, you should be proud.
YES, YES, YES!!!!! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. When I married my husband these were the exact feelings that I felt. I still feel them to this day. This is an amazing exploration of one's love for another. Beyond that of lust and sex, but true friendship. Knowing that love can seem cheesy and being able to accept that a smile and/or laughter is healthy. What an amazing poem. Thank you for sharing this.
This is a very nice poem. One I love anything with the slightest rhyme scheme. Which you executed so well. I love the sense of humor that comes with every line. This is just overall a nice, well written piece. I know that it is an older piece, however, when I saw it I knew I had to read it.
This is what I think being high on weed would be to me. I haven't tried it ... yet, but I am waiting for that day. This is a very expressive interpersonal look at how one feels when they allow the high to take them away. Nice job.
This is the a beautiful, yet heart breaking reflection of an individual that didn't want to be hurt, but ended up hurt in the end. So many people want things quick, fast, and in a hurry, but don't understand that because those are the desires of one party, doesn't make it the desire of the other. The most heartbreakingly beautiful part was the fact that at the end the person didn't regret the heartbreak.
This is a very beautiful poem. There is nothing better than a person being able to look within themselves for the truth of who they are. The truth of their true emotions. The truth of the truth. Don't stop showing who you are. It's a freeing experience.
This is a fun and campy view at how quickly a week comes around. I love the fact that the days of the week are given the female sex. By societies standard, men tend to be less emotionally invested in things. Although this is not true. But it does leave one to see the days of the week as different women coming in to work. Again a really fun piece.
This is a wonderful poem. It reminds me of the times before I joined the Military, just walking along the shore, wanting time to stand still. But it never did, and when I came to that conclusion was I truly free enough to make the decision to join. Great Job.
I'm about to be super country right now. OOOOOOO WEEEEEE, This was so deep, and so real, and so from the gut it brought me back to my first relationship. He knew as a gay man of color, he could say so many things and I would stay because I was broken. I needed the I love you's. I needed the longing or wanting. Until he landed me in the hospital. I joined the military to escape that love. So this story hits home. Its shows a victim, not being seen as a victim, because of the façade that the abuser created. What an amazing body of work.
This is so needed in this day and age. People don't know the difference between the truth, and lies. The world is now watching is fight from within which is something they haven't had to watch us do for a while. I agree with you when will it end. This is a very beautiful observation of our current world.
The poem speaks to my soul. I live in Washington DC, and I have a very long commute to work, but there are no more beautiful days, than those when it has snowed. The streets are pretty clear, but the trees, and the sky with in its pinks and purples elevate the drive.
