The doctor stared at the two men before him. One was sopping wet, with a damp blanket wrapped around him. The other was dry, but was rocking nervously back and forth on his feet. Both had a look of pure terror on their face.
The room was dark. The only sounds were the chattering of the men’s teeth and the rain rolling down the windows. Occasionally, there was a flash of lightning or a bolt of thunder.
Dr. Wharbler did not usually make house calls, but this was an exception. He had received an emergency call from the oldest, most feared house it the village, the Montague Mansion.
