I wrote this poem about love.
A heart beats loudly
In her ear
Is it love?
Or is it fear?

A smile lights up
Her whole face
Like she's in
A big embrace

A laugh lingers
In her mind
The sound so sweet
Gentle;Kind

Years have passed
And there she stands
Tenderly holding
A dying man's hand

Thinking back
On years gone by
And what it's like
To watch him die

At least
She thought
I had those years

And they weren't filled,
Like this,
With tears

A tear falls
From her eye
As painfully
She feels him die

A gasp escapes
Her grieving lips
And looking up
Her head, it tips

A prayer is said
In silent thought
Thanking God
For what he brought

A gift for her
He always was
She loved him so
As a wife does

More years pass
And she then dies
But fear not
They'll see each other in Paradise
