What is love?

What is love? Does anyone really know?

we associate it with feelings we show

for someone we want to be with forever

but it can often be a painful endeavour.

The journey is long in a tunnel with no light,

We will all succeed if we continue our fight.

Love is so sweet but yet it can be so sour,

It can make every minute seem like an hour.

We look for someone to have and to hold,

that heart that was made from the same mold.

All we want to do is find that special someone,

the one who can bring us a lifetime of fun.

The one who with a simple touch to the face,

can make us feel like we're in a magical place.

The one who at night has the last voice we want to hear,

that one person we hope we never cause to shed a tear.

The one who can cheer you up by just saying your name,

that person who you can make smile by doing the same.

The one who we enjoy holding in a loving embrace,

the one whose gaze can make our heart begin to race.

The one we want to wake up next to every single day,

the one who makes us feel special in a whole new way

We will find someone like this out there eventually

our hearts are still locked but someone has the key.

Why is it often so hard to find the one like this?

the one we don't like to leave without a kiss.

If love were easy this world would be near perfection,

nobody would be hurt from many acts of rejection.

But alas, nothing is perfect and lessons we must learn,

gaining the love of someone is a right we have to earn,

Love is a thing that is easy to say but hard to mean,

but if you mean it, its a beauty thats rarely ever seen.

Crushes lead to dreams, and many dreams are crushed,

Much of the pain of love has come from a selfish lust.

Play with lady luck and look at the cards she has dealt,

when you find the special person your hearts will melt.
