a piece inspired by aspirations for my children |
Life seen by a two-year old is a wonderful gift, notes on a ballad waiting to be written, precious moments will be missed if not noticed with careful tenacity- Innocent and pure his life stands now, no malice nor hate Simply love and curiosity, a new world he can create, a sweet sonata with a delicate rhythm, Dig Digs and wubbits, he calls them by name toys that always grace his tiny little hands, constantly moving and exploring, music at his feet waiting to be played one note at a time- Blond hair swaying and green eyes shining, his melody weaving steadily into my heart, Laughing and playing an innocent tune, wonderment and delight with every moment passing, With daylight’s surrendering endings, drifting into the world of dreams so beautiful and sweet, peacefully sleeping, hearing lullabies sung by a chorus of angels, Living so freely, eagerly learning, changing his tempo with every new note- Lessons I will teach him and lessons he will teach me switching between pupil and student, studying each other with intensity and love, notes in a time still to be discovered, In the rhythm of life he is constantly composing his ballad that is yet to be written- tunes will change as he comes of age, may the melodies stay soft and sweet, One day a man, life’s tumultuous music will create standing ready to change the world before him may I give him the courage and wisdom to listen to the music of the two-year old inside him. 37 lines |
